The UEFA decided to confiscate 15% of Besiktas' revenues from Europe in the 2021-22 football season unless the Turkish club proved that it had not violated the financial rule.

"The CFCB Adjudicatory Chamber decided to apply a permanent withholding of 15% of the revenues that Besiktas JK would be entitled to receive from its participation in the UEFA club competitions in which it takes part in the 2021/2022 season unless Besiktas JK is able to prove (by 30 June 2021) that it has paid the amounts that were identified as overdue payables as at 30 September 2020," the UEFA said in a statement.

Besiktas can take this decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The CFCB (UEFA Club Financial Control Body) monitors European clubs financially to make sure they are not spending more money than they earn, a measure created to help teams avoid financial problems in the long-term.

The clubs should respect the Financial Fair Play criteria involving break-even targets, sporting measures, and financial contributions.

The football body can fine or sanction clubs if they do not comply with financial criteria.
