The papier mache caricature figure for a carnival float of Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan was actually built to criticize an EU-Turkey agreement to handle the refugee crisis that foresees a deal on the lifting of EU visa restrictions for Turks.

The President Erdoğan carnival float was prepared for the upcoming Rose Monday carnival parade in Mainz city of Germany.

The Rose Monday parade that takes place in various German cities, including Mainz, Cologne and Dusseldorf, are the highlight of the carnival season for the country. An annual event since 1823, it celebrates free-spirited merrymaking before the beginning of Lent.

Papier-mache caricature figures of Greek PM Alexis Tsipras, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and suspended FIFA president Sepp Blatter also will take place in the annual event.
