A 40-year-old Russian woman has been accused of trying to sell her baby on the internet for a price of $4,400 (TL 18,400).

An online poster that read “Selling a child for organs” and describing the baby as “absolutely healthy” was recently put on an online advertising site.

Lyudmila Sadryeva who lives in Chelyabinsk, did not accept the charges, saying that her former roommate, who wanted revenge, was responsible for the advertisement.

Sadryeva stated that she had received death threats after people found out about the advertisement and for that reason she could not take her child to school, so she wanted her roommate to be caught. The Chelyabinsk police are currently investigating the matter.
