As the way we watch TV fundamentally changes in the 21st century with the introduction of platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime, the Turkish entertainment industry has also started taking concrete steps to accelerate digital transformation, launching a new streaming platform called "Dramax" to expand their audience reach.

From Magnificent Century to Resurrection: Ertuğrul, Turkish blockbusters have glued millions of international audiences to the silver screen, particularly after the 2000s, and it is now the second-highest ranking country exporting television dramas worldwide, after the United States.

The new platform, which started streaming with more than 5,000 hours of content, aims to reach 4,6 billion web users and 5.2 billion mobile phone users by airing content never-before exported.

Fans of the Turkish mega-hits can now watch their favorite TV shows with Spanish and Arabic subtitles. Furthermore, the newly launched digital service is set to dub series into Urdu, Russian and English subs in the near future.

"In addition to its economic contributions to our country, Dramax will be the strongest platform where Turkish culture, geography, tourism, traditions and customs will be introduced," Murat Saygı, the platform's Executive Board Member, told reporters.
