Turkish programmers on Wednesday received an award from Eskişehir Chamber of Industry for a mobile phone game.

The game called Oddmar is available on Apple operating system.

It tells the story of a self-made hero after he was expelled from his tribe.

Programmers Ozgur Taskin and Ferhat Erdogan were honored as “model young entrepreneurs” and presented with a plaque at a ceremony held in western Eskişehir province.

Taşkın said it took them four years to launch the game in the market.

“Nearly two years ago, we received a foreign investor. Earlier of course, we were supported by our government,” he said.

“We got Apple’s Design Award sometime back,” he added, regretting that many investors rejected their projects.

“We developed this game with a team of four individuals, but normally it needs wider human resources and a more extended time,” he added.

Calling Oddmar an international project, he said American, Canadian and Swedish citizens were involved in writing the story, mixing the sound and composing the music.
