28 Daesh terrorists arrested in Istanbul

Dozens more are detained for being members of Daesh, the terrorist network responsible for killing 45 in the Istanbul airport attack, over 50 people in the Gaziantep wedding attack and 39 persons in the Istanbul nightclub attack

As many as 28 Daesh terrorists have been arrested in Istanbul province of Turkey for being members of the armed terrorist organization on Thursday.



The detentions followed the issuing of arrest warrants by the Istanbul Prosecution on December 23 for 41 suspects.



One of the 41 suspects was released, four of them were taken to the court, while eight of them are still being sought by the security forces.





On Monday, January 16, 2017, Abdulgadir Masharipov, the perpetrator of the deadly assault on an Istanbul nightclub during new year's celebrations, was found in Istanbul.



Also, on Wednesday, another Daesh member, M.A., was captured as he was hiding in another cell house in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul, 11 hours after Masharipov's capture. M.A. was discovered to assist Masharipov in the massacre that left 39 people killed in Ortaköy district.





Turkey accelerated its efforts against Daesh as the fight against Daesh is crucial, particularly for Turkey, both for the security of the country and the region.



Daesh terrorists often conduct attacks in many Turkish provinces, particularly the airport attack conducted in Istanbul which resulted in 45 fatalities, as well as the Gaziantep wedding attack that killed over 50 people and the recent nightclub attack in Istanbul that left 39 people dead.
