Turkish security forces killed at least two PKK terrorists in southeastern province on Friday, Governor’s Office said.
According to the statement issued by Sirnak Governor’s Office, Gendarme forces performed a counter-terrorism operation in Silopi district of the province.
It said 11 improvised explosive devices recovered in the operation were destroyed in controlled explosions.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of some 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians, including a number of women and children.
