Azerbaijan to host ECO Clean Energy Center

The member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) backed the proposal of launching a Clean Energy Center in Azerbaijan during a meeting in Turkmenistan's capital, Trend News reported on Saturday.

The decision was approved at the 25th Council of Ministers Meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

ECO, which was founded by Turkey, Iran and Pakistan in 1985 as a follow-up of the Regional Cooperation for Development, was later joined by Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in 1992.
