A newly discovered blind amphibian that buries its head in the sand has been officially named “Dermophis donaldtrumpi,” after U.S. president Donald Trump, who denies climate change, deeming it a “total hoax.”

EnviroBuild, a U.K.-based sustainable building materials company, bought the naming rights for the caecilian after paying $25,000 at an auction which was conducted by a non-profit rainforest conservation organization.

Aidan Bell, EnviroBuild's co-founder, said the creature’s ability to bury its head in the underground matched Donald Trump’s approach to global warming.

“It is the perfect name. Caecilian is taken from the Latin caecus, meaning ‘blind’, perfectly mirroring the strategic vision President Trump has consistently shown towards climate change,” Bell said.

The small legless creature Donaldtrumpi was recently discovered by a group of scientists in Panama. It is 10 centimeters long and belongs to group of snakelike animals called caecilians.
