Book on Romania-Türkiye relations launched in Ankara

Century of Harmony: Romania-Türkiye Relations 1923-2023 offers readers information and photographs

The book Century of Harmony: Romania-Türkiye Relations 1923-2023 was launched Thursday during an event organized by the Romanian Embassy in the Turkish capital Ankara.

Hosted by Romania's Ambassador to Türkiye, Stefan Alexandru Tinca, the event was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Romanian State Secretary for European Affairs Daniela Gitman, diplomatic mission representatives in Ankara, academics and numerous guests.

In his speech, Bozay called the book "valuable" and highlighted the event's importance.

Emphasizing the good relations between Türkiye and Romania, he said: "Our bilateral relations have traditionally been very positive."

Bozay stressed that the positive relations continue and will persist in the future, noting that the people of both countries are eager to maintain them.

Providing information on Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu's visit to Ankara on May 21, Bozay highlighted the positive economic relations between the two countries.

Gitman said the relationship between Türkiye and Romania is currently experiencing its best period, providing examples of issues on which the two countries share common ground.

During the event, an exhibition on the bilateral relations between the two countries was opened.

Academics involved in the book also spoke about the relations between the two countries and the content of the book.

The event concluded with a book signing ceremony.

Prepared at the initiative of the Romanian Embassy in Ankara, the book offers readers information and photographs on the history of Türkiye-Romania relations.
