“The Dance of Symbols,” an exhibition where Anatolian symbols meet digital art, made its debut Tuesday in Belgium's capital Brussels.

Organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan and Mezo Digital, it presents Turkish motif silk scarves alongside Azerbaijani artificial intelligence artist Shusha's music and augmented reality.

Within the scope of the Istanbul Digital Art Festival, which will be held in the Turkish city of Istanbul from May 2-5 with Anadolu as the Global Communication Partner, digital works produced by Shusha were exhibited at the Royal Park Theater in Brussels.

The exhibition, which prominently features digital technologies, was opened by Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Belgium, Vagif Sadigov, and attended by numerous guests. It will be open to visitors on Wednesday.

Commenting on the event, Mezo Digital's Chairman of the Board of Directors Nabat Garakhanova said the exhibition includes symbols of Anatolia such as earth, fire, water, wheat and pomegranates.

Noting that this year marks the 4th Istanbul Digital Art Festival, Garakhanova said they will be hosting 27 Turkish artists at the event.

She pointed out that they want to introduce Turkish artists to the world through their exhibitions.

Garakhanova said they started their journey in Brussels and will launch the European premiere of the Istanbul Digital Art Festival in Milan, Italy, with further events planned in Vienna, Austria and the US.

Artist Bager Akbay, the creator of Shusha, said digital art has created a democratic space with a wide variety of perspectives.

Akbay said that while art has traditionally focused on Europe and America, today digital art provides a platform for everyone.

He emphasized that countries like Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Iran have histories inclined towards indirect expression, making digital art highly suitable for such expression.
