Cargo ship explosion in Turkey’s Sinop leaves one dead

An explosion on Wednesday on a cargo ship anchored approximately 15 miles off from Turkey’s northern Black Sea province of Sinop left one dead. The explosion was caused by gas entrapment in the boiler room of the vessel.

Initial reports indicate that the explosion killed one and left another wounded.

The injured victim was taken to shore by maritime police, and then transported to Sinop Public Hospital.
