Greeting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan before their one-on-one meeting, he remarked that "active, coordinated work" will help to achieve their goals.

"I am convinced that we will be able to give new impetus to the establishment of an inter-Syrian dialogue," he said.

"If we work actively and in close coordination and look for compromises on the situation in Syria, we will be able to achieve our goals."

Later today, during the trilateral summit, the two leaders along with Iranian President Hasan Rouhani will discuss further efforts towards a peaceful settlement in Syria.
