Robert Amsterdam, who investigates the global activities of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), reported that the organization earned approximately $243 million in fraud to date through its affiliated schools in the U.S.

International lawyer at Amsterdam & Partners LLP, Amsterdam released the book “Empire of Deceit,” which analyses the FETÖ terror network’s activities in the U.S. The book details how FETÖ used the charter school system to illegally funnel money to its leadership, provide fraudulent jobs to followers and discriminate against students.

“My aim is to prove that Fetullah Gülen is guilty, not to reach a political result. These schools are characterized not only by financial irregularities, but they [FETÖ] are also infiltrating into the American education system,” said Amsterdam.

Stating that the main aim of the book is to demonstrate to U.S. citizens the activities of FETÖ, Amsterdam stated that there is a close business association between the schools and the other institutions of FETÖ, and that financial transfers between these institutions are carried out in large amounts.

Amsterdam’s book, titled “Empire of Deceit: An Investigation of the Gülen Charter School Network,” is due to be released on Sept. 13, and the Turkish version is scheduled to be released soon thereafter.

The investigation followed a trail that covered over half of the 50 U.S. states.

FETÖ terrorists are led by U.S.-based Fetullah Gülen, who orchestrated Turkey's July 15 coup attempt and is the mastermind behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary.

Since the failed coup, operations have been ongoing in the military, police and judiciary as well as in state institutions across the country to arrest suspects with alleged links to FETÖ.

The terrorist group is also known for its network comprised of hundreds of schools around the world.
