German magazine Der Spiegel published a report smearing Turkish presence in Syria by using a map of Turkey from 1920 to make false claims about Ankara’s cross-border operations that helped usher in peace and eliminate terror elements in northern Syria.

Through its Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch operations, residents of Syria’s northern al-Bab, Jarabulus and Afrin, among other border regions, were able to return to their cities and towns where they continue to live in peace and harmony, after the threats of Daesh and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)’s Syria affiliate, the YPG, were eliminated.

Despite all proof to the contrary, Der Spiegel’s report attempted to scandalously discredit Turkey’s efforts to deescalate the conflict by falsely accusing Turkey of “cultural and ethnic cleansing.”
