An 82-year-old Jordanian man has penned a poem for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan celebrating his reelection.

In his poem, Ghayyad Abu Al-Assal described the Turkish president as the "beloved of millions."

Ghayyad was born in the Saham al-Kaffarat area affiliated with the Bani Kinana Brigade in the northern Irbid governorate.

Ghayyad, who is now a retired teacher, learned how to write poetry at the age of 71. He has four published collections.

“What happened in Türkiye in terms of the election results confirms the greatness of President Erdogan’s achievements for his people,” Ghayyad told Anadolu.

“Türkiye’s strength and greatness is a proof of President Erdogan’s good management and love for Islam and Muslims,” Ghayyad added.

“I expressed my joy at Erdogan's victory through poetry. This is the third poem I write to the President of the Turkish Republic,” he stated.

Rakha, 81, Ghayyad's brother, is one of the first Jordanian doctors to obtain his degree from Türkiye in 1969.

Rakha held a reception at his house to celebrate Erdogan’s win.

He called the effort “a part of his duty towards the Turkish president in particular and the Turkish people in general.”

“During my studies in Türkiye, I witnessed the kindness and love of Turkish people,” Rakha said.

Erdogan, who received 52.18% of the votes in Sunday's runoff, was elected the 12th president of the Republic of Türkiye.
