The Second Training Course on OIC Diplomacy for Junior Diplomats from the Member States kicked off in Istanbul on Monday.
The event is being organized by The Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) and will take place between 26-29 November 2018.
The training will have a duration of 4 days and has the aim to enhance the capacities and skills of junior diplomats. Moreover, it will raise their awareness and understanding about the role of OIC in the international arena, the goals and objectives for which the Organization have been established, so that they can participate more effectively in its efforts to overcome the challenges that the Muslim world is facing.
The opening session of the event addressed by H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Amb. Musa Kulaklıkaya, Director General of SESRIC, and H.E. Amb. Hameed Opeloyeru, Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs of the OIC.
Furthermore, the training is aiming to promote the role and accomplishments of the OIC and the useful work achieved by its organs in addressing political, economic, social, and security challenges that the Muslim world and the international community is facing.
The first phase of this Programme was launched in November 2017 and involved 35 young diplomats from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of OIC, as well as diplomats from the embassies of OIC Member States in Ankara.
SESRIC is a subsidiary organ of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Has been serving the OIC Member States in the areas of Statistics, Research and training since 1978.
