A major forest fire that broke out in Turkey’s central Mediterranean city of Alanya at 10:00 am local time on Friday is still underway.
The fire, which was partially under control on Friday night, spread through the Sapadere canyon to the Kargicak region as a result of the early morning wind.
Villas, banana gardens and greenhouses have been burnt.
Six firetrucks, one helicopter and a water tanker is on the scene to prevent the forest fire from spreading to tourist areas, schools and homes.
Locals have attempted to aid firefighters with buckets of water and hoses.
