The Turkish General Staff announced on Wednesday, May 20, that two people missing for hours in the eastern province of Muş were kidnapped by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK.
“Terrorists belonging to a Separatist Terrorist Organization kidnapped two people, one a gendarmerie Corporal, in the area between the villages of Mescitli and Bostankent in Muş province,” said the general staff in a released statement.
The kidnapped civilian was an employee of a satellite maintenance company.
A wide investigation was launched about the kidnapping incident.
On the other hand, two unarmed terrorists surrendered to the gendarmerie units in the Hani district of Diyarbakır.
