Southeastern Turkey votes 'Yes' in referendum

Yes votes prevailed in the southeastern Turkey with 53.3 percent

An overwhelming majority of Turkey’s Anatolian region voted “Yes” in the historic constitutional referendum, according to unofficial results.

With 99.3% of ballot boxes counted in the southeastern Turkish provinces, “Yes” pulled ahead with 53.2% at 2.095.145 votes while “No” dragged behind at 46.8% with 1,842,177 votes.

Meanwhile, in central Anatolia, 97.8% of ballot boxes have been opened and “Yes” votes are ahead by 58.9 % with 4.497.200 votes and “No” votes have reached 41.1% or 3,133,948 votes.

“Yes” votes are ahead by a landslide with 57.9% and 1.667.470 votes in the eastern Anatolian region, as “No” votes consist of 42% with 1,210,703 votes.

“Yes” voters have rallied behind President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who they describe as a leader capable of steering Turkey to success in a time of terrorism infused turbulence, security threats and the aftermath of the July 15th coup attempt.

The reform bill proposes 18 amendments set to develop stability and growth in Turkey.
