The Taliban administration has claimed Pakistani nationals were involved in Daesh attacks in war-torn Afghanistan.

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman of the Kabul-based interim administration, said on Wednesday: "18 Pakistani members of Daesh, who were carrying out explosions and attacks in our territory, were killed and dozens of them were captured alive in different areas of Afghanistan, all the documents and evidence are with us."

In a statement released on X, formerly Twitter, the Taliban spokesman rejected claims by Pakistan that blamed Afghanistan for militant attacks in the South Asian nation.

“Afghanistan is a country that has come out of a long-lasting war and it does not want to threaten the security of any country, especially neighboring countries,” said Mujahid.

“Unfortunately, over the past 20 years, our region was a victim of foreign invasion led by America and the wrong policies of some countries in the region, the effects of which are still being felt,” he added.

Mujahid suggested Pakistan should “manage its security situation carefully and find a solution for it in their territory.”
