Yeni Şafak daily and TVNET Editor-In-Chief İbrahim Karagül assessed developments throughout the U.S., Middle East and Europe in an online discussion shared on social media platforms on Thursday.
“The U.S. wants to get its hands on the money in banks in the Gulf,” said Karagül during a program with Yeni Şafak's Digital Publications Manager Ersin Çelik that was posted on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
“The greatest bribery and corruption in the world is in the U.S.,” he added.

Foreign threats to Turkey
Karagül also discussed ongoing regional projects that aim to split Turkey and the Middle East.
“There is a project to dismantle this region. There are plans to divide Iran, Iraq, Syria, Turkey and the Middle East. Those who oppose these plans are being targeted,” he said.
“Daesh is made to look Islamic, but it operates entirely under the command of Israeli and American intelligence. Saudi Arabia is referring to Israel as an ally. This project is being conducted not on religion but on power balances. The PKK and PYD are external threats. So is FETÖ,” Karagül added.
Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ on Thursday said the country’s main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) is part of “a big campaign of slander against Turkey.”“There is a big campaign of slander against Turkey; the FETÖ and U.S. sympathizers in the New York leg, and the CHP in the Turkey leg,” Bozdağ said.“Kılıçdaroğlu has become Turkey’s national security issue. Shouldn’t he reveal the content of the documents he claims as proof? He could not prove his claims and now he is miserable,” he added.Bozdağ said Kılıçdaroğlu’s “fraud, lies and immorality” was proven by his lack of evidence.Opposition claims against Erdoğan ‘total lies’: LawyerOn Tuesday, Kılıçdaroğlu, head of the CHP, in a speech to party lawmakers, presented papers he alleged were evidence of his claims that relatives of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had stashed money abroad.“He does not reveal who gave him the so-called evidence. Was it FETÖ, intelligence services of foreign counties or did he fabricate it himself? If it was an enemy of Turkey, then he must explain this alliance,” said Bozdağ.“Kılıçdaroğlu is trying to embed dirty politics in Turkey. He doesn’t even look at whether whoever is handing him claims against the president and his family is credible. He is blinded by hatred,” he added.Erdoğan, who has led Turkey since 2003, dismissed accusations by the CHP leader as lies and said he would take the CHP leader to court.About the “handful of papers” Kılıçdaroğlu brandished at the parliament during his party’s group meeting on Tuesday, Erdoğan said the opposition party leader did not submit this evidence to either a media outlet or any legal departments.

Opposition leader part of a foreign axis
The editor-in-chief slammed Turkey’s main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
“Kılıçdaroğlu has taken the side of the foreign axis,” Karagül said, hinting that the CHP leader had become an issue of national security.
Kılıçdaroğlu alleged that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had offshore accounts, claims Erdoğan vehemently denies. Erdoğan said the CHP leader was “telling lies,” adding that he would take Kılıçdaroğlu to court.
“Incidents in Iran are the work of U.S. intelligence. This will be revealed when the Reza Zarrab file is examined. But this is an economic attack on Turkey. We are faced with a foreign intervention. They are operating with the CHP. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was probably made to lead the CHP for these scenarios,” Karagül said.
“Kılıçdaroğlu is the domestic partner of the economic coup attempt. This must be accepted. He’s trying to confuse minds. Kılıçdaroğlu also has other material that he will share in stages. They [CHP] are working with the FBI,” he added.

We are watching this case, which has considerable political dimensions. Nevertheless the banking sector has a large resilience to shocks."Simsek’s comments come amid a U.S. trial in which Turkish businessman Riza Sarraf, detained last year for alleged sanctions evasion, is due to testify in the case of Mehmet Hakan Atilla, the deputy CEO of state-owned Halkbank.U.S. federal prosecutors said Sarraf has pleaded guilty to the seven charges against him, and that he will “testify as a witness” at the trial, which began on Tuesday.Atilla was arrested in the U.S. earlier this year on similar sanctions violations charges

A lawyer of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday rejected “false” allegations made by main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.Lawyer Ahmet Özel’s remarks came after Kılıçdaroğlu claimed last week that Erdoğan allegedly had money abroad.“All allegations made by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu against my client are total lies and all papers he has shown are fraudulent.“Kılıçdaroğlu must immediately share the papers he showed with the public,” Özel said in a statement.Erdoğan had also strongly rejected the allegations earlier and vowed to resign if they could be proved. In his speech to his party deputies in the parliament Tuesday, the main opposition leader presented some documents that he claimed was evidence for his allegation against the president.Özel said Kılıçdaroğlu should submit the documents to a public prosecutor’s office and file a legal complaint. He added that the opposition leader could share the documents with any media he wanted. The lawyer also said Kılıçdaroğlu had made similar claims against the president without providing any proof. He said Kılıçdaroğlu had once again been trapped by the Fetullah Terrorist Organization [FETÖ] and had been disgraced.Özel underlined that neither the president nor any of his family members had any money abroad.Legal measures would be taken against Kılıçdaroğlu and he would be questioned before the judiciary, the statement said.
