Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said that Turkey will bring down the parties which have been trying to bring Turkey down with brutal attacks, as in the recent Ankara suicide bombing that killed 37 people, instead of capitulating to terrorism.

"Sunday's attack targeted 79 million Turkish citizens. Terror showed its ugly and vile face once again with the recent attack. They are aiming at bringing Turkey down with spreading fear and terror. But they will never be able to make this happen," said Erdoğan during his speech at the joint press conference with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev.

"The parties that have been using the terror as a tool will be brought down by Turkey," Erdoğan said.

Erdoğan also touched upon Turkey's cooperation with Azerbaijan in different fields, including the fight against terrorism.

"Azerbaijan showed its support and brotherhood with this visit. The parties who try to contribute to terror as peace efforts or the seeking rent over the terrorist attacks should take lesson from this attitude," said the Turkish President.

"Today we signed six agreements. I believe all six agreements will contribute to the progress of Azerbaijan . We will continue holding important meetings with Aliyev in the upcoming days," Erdoğan added.

Aliyev, speaking after Erdoğan, has offered his condolence to Turkish people and condemned the ferocity.

"We are taking the side of Turkey in its black days. Turkey was the first country recognize Azerbaijan . We will never forget this and maintain our close relationship with Turkey," Aliyev added.

The press conference followed the meeting of Erdoğan and Aliyev as a part of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (YDSK).

The YDSK meeting was to be held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, but leaders decided to hold it in Ankara instead of Baku rather than cancelling it due to the terrorist attack.
