Turkey's İncirlik Air Base sealed off over coup attempt

The air base, located in the İncirlik quarter of Adana province, has been sealed off as a security measure following the coup attempt strikes in Turkey

The United States (US) consulate has said that Turkey's Incirlik Air Base was sealed off as a security measure following the coup attempt that was carried out in Turkey and concluded with at least 161 fatalities.



Also, power to the air base, located in the İncirlik quarter of the province of Adana, has been cut.



Turkish authorities earlier arrested ten administrative court members and are searching for 140 court of cassation members in a probe over the attempted coup.



The US followed the coup attempt aiming at overthrowing the government, by using tanks and helicopters and blocking bridges.



The incident left 161 people martyred and 1440 others wounded. Also, 2,839 soldiers were detained over the coup attempt.
