Turkish Air Forces pounded hideouts of PKK terrorists in northern Iraq, military said on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by the Turkish General Staff, the air operations were carried out in Hakurk area Wednesday night.

One anti-aircraft gun, two mortar posts and three hideouts used by PKK terrorists, were destroyed in the air operation.

Elsewhere, security forces seized one Zagros rifle with 273 cartridges, two hand-held radios and five improvised explosive devices in different operations in Turkey’s southeastern Şırnak and Siirt provinces.

The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.

Since then, more than 1,200 victims, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives.
