Turkish ministers met their counterparts in Amman to discuss ways to raise bilateral trade volume.

Turkey's Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan and her Jordanian counterpart Tareq Hammouri on Monday met to discuss renewal of the free trade agreement (FTA) between their countries.

Pekcan said the ministers met in Jordanian capital Amman and discussed the renewal of the agreement and ways to raise bilateral trade volume.

The agreement, which signed in 2009 and came into operation in 2011, suspended in March 2018 by Jordan to protect its domestic industry.

Hammouri, for his part, said the meeting is likely to bring a positive outcome for both countries.

Peckan said a conference under the theme of “Investment in Jordan” will be organized in Turkey on Nov. 15-16.

During her visit, the Turkish minister also met with Jordan's Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz.
