National Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli meets Pakistani Minister for Defense Production Rana Tanveer Hussain in Ankara
National Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli met Pakistani Minister for Defense Production Rana Tanveer Hussain in capital Ankara on Friday during which both sides vowed to enhance defense ties further.
In a statement, Pakistani Embassy to Ankara said: “The two ministers held a comprehensive review of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the ongoing defense industry projects between the two countries.
“Both sides agreed to further increase mutual contact and exchange of visits with a view to realizing the full potential in defense collaboration and identifying new projects.”
Brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey are deeply rooted in history, Canikli said.
The Turkish minister also emphasized on the need for collaboration and for “developing critical technologies to meet contemporary challenges”.
The visiting Pakistani minister "hoped that both countries would explore further possibilities of joint ventures and co-production”, the statement added.
Pakistani Ambassador to Turkey Syrus Sajjad Qazi and senior officials from both countries also attended the meeting.
