Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,950.30 points on Tuesday, rising 1.19%, or 22.91 points, from the previous close’s all-time high.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 1.82% on Monday to hit another record closing of 1,927.39 points, with a daily trading volume of 31.2 billion liras ($2.26 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 13.7340 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) from 13.7840 at the previous close.
One euro traded for 15.5120 Turkish lira versus 15.5710 at Monday’s close, while the British pound/Turkish lira exchange rate was 18.2430, down from 18.3120.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $74.05 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
