Türkiye to continue working towards goal of $10B bilateral trade volume with Indonesia, says Turkish trade minister

Türkiye and Indonesia have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance their bilateral trade cooperation, Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat said on Wednesday.

"Under the leadership of our president and the president of Indonesia, we have signed a memorandum of understanding with my counterpart Minister of Trade of Indonesia Budi Santoso to enhance our trade cooperation within the framework of the first High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council Meeting," he said on X platform.

"This agreement will contribute to the expansion, diversification, and balanced growth of our bilateral trade by strengthening our collaboration in areas such as the development of digital trade opportunities for SMEs, trade facilitation, and trade promotion activities," he added.

Bolat said that both the presidents emphasized the importance of political, cultural, commercial and economic cooperation between the countries and reminded that the two countries are celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations.

"As Türkiye, we will continue to work resolutely toward our goal of increasing our bilateral trade volume with our friendly and brotherly country, Indonesia, to $10 billion," he noted.

Türkiye's President Erdogan and Turkish officials are on a 4-day Asia tour of which Indonesia is the second stop after Malaysia.
