Türkiye, Pakistan forge stronger trade ties with new agreements

'Agreements will create new opportunities for our exporters and investors, contributing to growth, development of our bilateral trade,' says Trade Minister Bolat

In a significant step to bolster economic relations, Türkiye and Pakistan signed multiple agreements during the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council Meeting, Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat said on X on Thursday.

The meeting was co-chaired by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Bolat and his Pakistani counterpart Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan formalized memorandums of understanding aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and investment.

The agreements aimed at expanding collaboration in trade, and banking and facilitating joint efforts in halal certification.

"These agreements will create new opportunities for our exporters and investors, contributing to the growth, diversification, and balanced development of our bilateral trade," Bolat said.

President Erdogan and Turkish officials are on a four-day Asia tour in which Pakistan is the third stop after Malaysia and Indonesia.
