The United States is preparing to officially recognize Syrian regions under the occupation of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)’s Syrian affiliate, the PYD, according to a report by London-based Saudi newspaper Asharq al-Awsat.

According to a senior Western official, who spoke to Asharq Al-Awsat about the plan, the White House is preparing to turn a new page taking “concrete steps” with regards to its Syria policy.

U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis has dispatched a “diplomatic team” to PKK/PYD occupied areas, primarily the eastern Euphrates region, which amounts to an area of about 28,000 square kilometers, three times the size of Lebanon.

Diplomats sent by Mattis met with high-ranking PKK terrorists dispatched from Qandil in order to pave the way to rebuild cities that were leveled to the ground by U.S.-led coalition bombs, strengthen the infrastructure, and begin talks on topics relating to the training of ‘security forces’ and the maintenance/modernization of U.S. bases.

The next step is set to be the recognition of a so-called “state” for PKK terrorists by Washington which will divide Syria.

Back in August 2017, trucks were sent to PKK terrorists in northern Raqqa, which included weapons, high-capacity armored Hummer trucks used by the U.S. military, in addition to 4x4 Jeeps and excavators.

In recent months, the U.S. has stepped up its support for PKK terrorists in Syria by sending hundreds of weapon trucks across the border from Iraq.

Turkey has repeatedly objected to U.S. arms being sent to the PYD, due to its links to the terrorist organization the PKK.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the European Union and the United States.

The PKK has been conducting armed violence in the southeastern part of Turkey since 1984. More than 40,000 people, mostly civilians, have been killed in the three-decade long conflict.
