World Bank loans Turkish bank for renewable energy projects

Development Investment Bank of Türkiye to provide financing for projects involving distributed solar energy, battery energy storage systems

The World Bank has provided financing for renewable energy projects through the Development Investment Bank of Türkiye (TKYB), according to a statement posted on Türkiye's Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on Thursday.

The TKYB has received a loan of €300 million (approximately $325 million) from the World Bank's largest institution International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and $15 million from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF), besides a grant of $1.5 million from the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP).

The Turkish bank will provide financing for projects involving distributed solar energy and battery energy storage systems, the statement said.
