As many as 1,500 roads were closed due to the inclement weather as snowfall reached up to 115 centimeters in Muş province, 92 centimeters in Ağrı, 55 centimeters in Erzurum, 42 centimeters in Kars, 32 centimeters in Ardahan, 19 centimeters in Iğdır and 6 centimeters in Erzincan. Eastern Turkey is currently under the impact of a cold front, with snowfall expected to last until the end of Wednesday.</description>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A military funeral was held on Friday, March 6, with the participation of the top military commander and the Eskişehir governor, and relatives, for the two soldiers who passed away in an F-4 military jet crash on Thursday in the central Turkish province of Konya.</p><p>
</p><p>The funeral, at the Combatant Air Force and Air Missile Defence Command office in Eskişehir, was attended by the Chief of the General Staff Gen. Necdet Özel, Eskişehir Governor Güngör Azim Tuna, and other military officials and the relatives of the martyrs.</p><p>
</p><p>The two pilots, Staff Captain Pilot Mustafa Tanış and Staff Captain Pilot Mustafa Delikanlı, were killed after an F-4 military aircraft of the Turkish Air Force crashed in Konya during a training exercise.</p><p>
</p><p>In the ceremony, the 1st Main Jet Base Commander Brigadier General Kemal Akpınar said in his speech: “Today we are here to bid farewell to our two brave brothers, who laid down their lives during their duty for the preparation of a war to keep the country’s sky safe for the friends and fare for the enemies, on their last journey. I pray for God's mercy on our brothers, who received the highest rank, martyr, express my condolence to their families and relatives and great patience to the co-fighters.”</p><p>
</p><p>The deceased soldiers will be laid to rest in their hometowns, after prayers have been conducted by Eshişehir’s Mufti Niyazi Ersoy. Pilot Tanış will be buried in Ankara and Pilot Delikanlı in Istanbul. &nbsp;</p>]]></content:encoded>
