      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p> The four pilots, who were flying the two Turkish military F-4 planes that crashed during a training exercise on Tuesday, Feb. 24, were commemorated at a funeral service in the central Turkish province of Malatya, the area of the crash. The four pilots, Salih Sezer, Osman Onur Özkaya, Zeynel Özgür Özbahçeci and Yasin Atalay, lost their lives during the crashes.<p><br></p><p><br></p>
A funeral ceremony had a large participation.<p><br></p>

Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Özel,&nbsp; Air Forces Commander Gen. Akın Öztürk and&nbsp; Defense Minister İsmet Yılmaz were among the participants.<p><br></p>

&nbsp;Loved ones of the pilots burst into tears during the ceremony. After the event, the bodies of the pilots were sent to their hometowns.<p><br></p>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The bodies of four pilots were found on Tuesday, Feb. 24, in the wreckage of two Turkish military aircrafts, Interior Minister Efkan Ala has said.</p><p>
</p><p>"The bad news has given us a deep sorrow," Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a letter of condolence to the family of the victims.</p><p>
</p><p>Erdogan phoned Turkey's Chief of Staff, General Necdet Ozel, to get information on the incident and expressed his condolences to the Turkish army.</p><p>
</p><p>Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek also has sent a letter of condolence to the Chief of Air Staff, General Akin Ozturk.</p><p>
</p><p>Rescue teams as well as fire crew, ambulances and gendarmerie were sent to the scene of the crash immediately after local people reported explosions.</p><p>
</p><p>Heavy fog in the region prevented the vehicles from reaching the area.</p>]]></content:encoded>

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Turkish authorities on Wednesday&nbsp;formally&nbsp;opened an investigation against 47 police officers, who are based in the police headquarters in Turkey’s eastern province of Malatya.&nbsp;</p><p>
</p><p>The officers will be questioned about their alleged roles in the illegal wiretapping operations over the past four years.</p><p>
</p><p>After the Interior Ministry’s permission, the Malatya chief public prosecutor’s office pushed the button for the investigation against illegal tapping operations in the province’s police headquarters.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>
</p><p>The prosecutor will investigate the claims, which said&nbsp;the summary of conversations, wiretapped illegally in the police headquarters, forwarded to the computer of somebody else working in the same headquarters.&nbsp; All computers that were allegedly used in the wiretapping operations will be searched to clarify allegations suggesting that software installed into those computers is not used based on confidentiality.</p><p>
</p><p>Meanwhile, 15 officers in Malatya police headquarters are still being prosecuted in an ongoing investigation, that is being carried out for the claims that they have illegally wiretapped conversations of several pilots based in 2nd the Army Command in Malatya.</p>]]></content:encoded>
