'Black Eagles' maul Partizan in Serbia

Turkey's Besiktas ease past Serbian team Partizan 4-0 in UEFA Europa League Group C game

Turkish club Besiktas heavily defeated Serbian team Partizan 4-0 at the Partizan Stadium in UEFA Europa League Group C game Thursday night.


    In 13th minute Besiktas winger Gokhan Tore made a curved shot but Partizan goalkeeper Milan Lukac deflected the ball to corner.


    Five minutes later Besiktas' Austrian midfielder Veli Kavlak's long range drive made it 1-0 for the visitors.


    In 28th minute Gokhan Tore hit the bar. It was a good chance for the "Black Eagles." Four minutes later Besiktas goalkeeper Tolga Zengin saved Partizan forward Petar Skuletic's close range shot. Partizan were close to score the equaliser.


    Besiktas doubled the margin after Senegalese forward Demba Ba assisted by Olcan Sahan put the ball in the back of the net in Partizan area in 45th minute, 2-0.


    In 52nd minute Besiktas made it three when Turkish midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup found the net in the box, Gokhan Tore made the decisive pass from byline, 3-0. Two minutes later Gokhan scored the fourth goal for the Istanbul side. He received a through ball and finished calmly, 4-0.


    In another game in the group, English side Tottenham Hotspur crushed Greek Asteras Tripolis 5-1 in London, English forward Harry Kane's hat-trick and Argentine midfielder Erik Lamela's brace brought the glory for "Spurs."


    Another Turkish club Trabzonspor beat Belgian opponents Lokeren 2-0 in Group L game. Scorers were Malian striker Mustapha Yatabare and Guinean midfielder Kevin Constant.
