Sharapova to meet Halep in French Open final

Being seventh position in the women's singles rankings, Sharapova defeated her 20-year-old Canadian opponent Eugenie Bouchard,? ranked as eighteenth overall, in the semis of Roland Garros on Thursday and advanced to the final stage.

Bouchard, who won the first set 6-4 against Sharapova, lost the remaining two by 7-5 and 6-2 and got eliminated in the semifinal phase.

In another game for the final, fourth-ranked Halep defeated German opponent Andrea Petkovic 2-0 by winning both sets 6-2 and 7-6, putting Halep through to the Roland Garros finals.

The winners of the semis, Sharapova and Halep, will compete against each other on Saturday in the battle to be crowned winner of the French Open Women's Singles.
