Turkish football giants Galatasaray announced on Friday that they have not been negotiating with Turkey National Football Team head coach Fatih Terim for their vacant managerial position.

According to the statement made on the Istanbulite club's website, "Today in some parts of the media, there are several news that the club negotiated with Mr. Fatih Terim but there have not been any negotiations yet."

Regarded as one of the most important figures in Turkish football, Fatih Terim led Galatasaray to six Spor Toto Super League titles in total.

The Spor Toto Super League is Turkish football's top division.

In addition to domestic titles, Galatasaray achieved phenomenal success in Turkish football history by winning the second-tier, pan-European club title, the UEFA Cup - now called the UEFA Europa League - in 2000 during the Terim era.
