Turkish defense contractor (ASELSAN) is set to unveil new models of its best-selling remote-controlled weapons system (SARP) amid high demand from domestic and foreign buyers as its continues to diversify its product line-up.

SARP is a remotely-operated stabilized weapon platform for small and medium caliber machine guns and automatic grenade launchers. The platform combines high-precision reconnaissance and engagement capabilities with effective firepower while keeping the operator under armor or in a safe area away from counter fire.

The compact design of the system proves SARP a perfect match for integration onto tactical vehicles, fixed surveillance posts and towers. Stabilization, automatic target tracking and advanced ballistic computation features provide fire-on-the-move capability against stationary and moving targets.

To this day, ASELSAN has produced approximately 1,350 SARP systems that can be configured to fit the needs of customers. A thousand of the SARPs produced are being used domestically, while the rest were exported overseas.

SARP provides a perfect match for integration onto tactical vehicles, fixed surveillance posts, towers and critical infrastructures. Depending on the operational requirements, SARP can be equipped with a 12.7 millimeter machine gun, a 40 millimeter automatic grenade launcher or 7.62 millimeter machine gun.

Production capacity of 150 SARPs a month

Due to possessing the initial blueprint of the original SARP, customized models depending on the requests of different buyers, in terms of weapons and features, can be produced quickly.

The defense contractor currently produces a total of 150 SARP systems a month.

Newly-produced SARP-L, which was produced to be equipped with the HİSAR aerial defense system, is a low weight (less than 80 kg) and remotely-operated stabilized weapon system for low recoil weapons and provides exceptional capabilities against asymmetric threats. The platform combines high-precision reconnaissance with effective firepower while keeping the operator safe under armor.

The company, established in 1975, mainly focuses on supplying the Turkish Armed Forces but has grown to provide systems to foreign clients.
