Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,387.74 points on Thursday, down 0.20% or 2.84 points from the previous close.
At Wednesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 1.12% to 1,390.58 points, with a daily trading volume of 11.56 billion Turkish liras ($1.33 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 8.6900 as of 9:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, from 8.7050 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 10.2700, versus 10.2620, while one British pound traded for 11.9700 Turkish liras, falling slightly from 12.0310.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for $73.15 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
