A light show staged in northwest China's ancient city Xi'an has drawn visitors since Sunday as a salute to laborers on the occasion of the International Labor Day. The show in six chapters displays the Chinese culture's origin and evolution by a combined representation of folk dances and modern technologies, with a subtle integration of sounds, lights, and images. A total of 2,100 lamp poles were set around fountains in front of the Greater Wild Goose Pagoda, a Buddhist structure built during the Tang dynasty (618-907).
