Rare kangaroo rat spotted in eastern Turkey

A Turkish villager on Tuesday managed to capture a rare kangaroo rat, formally known as the Euphrates jerboa, in the country's eastern province of Elazig. Irfan Solak spotted the rodent, which he had never before seen, while leading his cattle to water. He initially thought it was just your everyday rat, but later realized that the rodent was quite unique after it started hopping about like a kangaroo. Solak then managed to capture the little rodent so that the cattle would not inflict any harm on it.
