Heroic women firefighters in shalwars protect their village from flames in Turkey

A team of 15 women, who volunteered to become firefighters after enrolling in a training program, made history as they intervened to extinguish flames in their village in Turkey's western Kocaeli province. Running to intervene in their traditional shalwar pants, the heroic women took a break from their daily tasks to heed the call of duty, noting that they're proud to be called 'firefighters in shalwars' as locals have branded them.
