Picturesque dried up lake in eastern Turkey wows visitors

Akgol, which is home to many bird species in Turkey’s eastern Van province, has completely dried up. The 407-hectare lake, which is fed by rain and snow waters in Bagriacik village, has been adversely affected by the drought in recent years. The lake was resembling Tukey’s famous ‘Salt Lake’ with its colorful layered appearance.
