
72-year-old Azerbaijani grandma kisses ground after returning to liberated Aghdam
A 72-year-old Azerbaijani woman who was forced to leave Aghdam, which was occupied by Armenian forces during the Nagorno-Karabakh War in July 1993, returned to her homeland 27 years later after the town was liberated by forces loyal to Baku. Footage released by Azerbaijani channel Ictimai TV (İTV) shows Ahmedova Semaye who could not hold back her tears of joy, kissing the ground as soon as she arrived in the town where she was born and raised.
