Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was welcomed with a special ceremony in the Ghanaian capital city of Accra, as a part of his African tour. During the ceremony, Erdoğan was cautioned by a Ghanaian soldier to return to where he started his walk before saluting the soldiers. It was noticed that Erdoğan made a long walk because of a large number of carpets intersecting each other without Ghanaian leader Dramani Mahama, who hugged Erdoğan after the saluting phase ended. The Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur, Foreign Minister Hannah Tetteh, and Environment, Science and Technology Minister Mahama Ayariga were at the official ceremony which was held in Ghana's Kotoka International Airport. During his visit to Ghana, President Erdoğan is accompanied by First Lady Emine Erdoğan, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Environment and Urbanization Minister Fatma Güldemet Sarı, Economy Minister Mustafa Elitaş and National Defense Minister İsmet.
