Thousands of stores in New York boarded up their doors and windows to avoid possible looting. Normally brimming with customers, SoHo has become ghost town in the wake of the COVID-19 shutdown. The workers were seen using heavy plywood to protect the shop front against the elements or possible looting, as New York City faces the uncertain months ahead. The upscale retailers such as Dolce Gabbana, Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga among others, allegedly liquidated the shelves and erected plywood to protect the windows.
