The tranquil port of Patras in western Greece is awakened when dozens of migrants start spilling over its towering white fence. They scatter in several directions, running, and the race begins to escape coast guard police and wriggle into or under a parked lorry waiting to board a ferry for Italy. They squeeze into the undercarriages, next to the drive-shaft, or break locks on doors or tarps of trailers.
