A Muslim family has been banned from a United Airlines flight over a pilot's request, claiming the company had concerns over their child's safety seat. The incident occurred when Eaman-Amy Saad Shebley, her husband and three young children were about to take off on a flight bound for Washington, DC at a Chicago airport when they were asked to leave the aircraft. As in the videos appeared on social media revealed, the pilot asked the family to leave the plane due to “safety issues” despite the family's insistence that the decision should be reconsidered to determine whether discrimination was a factor. “Shame on you, ‪‎United Airlines, for profiling my family and me for no reason other than how we look and kicking us off the plane for 'safety flight issues' on our flight to DC for the kids' spring break. My three kids are too young to have experienced this,” mother Shebley wrote on Facebook after the family was taken off the flight. United Airlines after the incident issues a message saying that they rebooked the family on a later flight because of concerns about their child's safety seat, which did not comply with federal safety regulations. "Both United and SkyWest hold our employees to the highest standards of professionalism and have zero tolerance for discrimination," the company said.
