PKK takes heavy blow from Turkish military

Following the end of city center operations against the PKK, Turkish security forces turned to the rural area to neutralize remaining terrorists and eliminate its sources of financing. A joint security force of about 6,500 security personnel have launched an operation to cut the the terror group's financial backing. To this end, they destroyed 424,300 cannabis trees with an estimated street value of 8.5 billion lira.
