Several dead in 70-car Slovenia crash

A pile-up involving more than 70 vehicles in Slovenia's capital Ljubljana has left four people dead, local media reported. The accident happened in heavy fog on a major highway linking the capital with the Adriatic coast. Also, as many as 30 people were injured in the crash, which closed the key route in both directions. It also took the police several hours to get the victims from wrecked cars and the road could only be opened after hours of efforts. State STA news agency said the pileup was one of the biggest ever in the small EU country.
